The 2015-16 São Vicente Island League season was the 78th (40th since independence) of the competition of the second and thirrd tiers of football in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde.[1] Its started on 16 January and finished on 25 April 2015, each a day earlier than last season. The tournament was organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de São Vicente de Futebol, ARSVF).[2] CS Mindelense won the 48 th title, as they were national champions in the previous season, once again Derby as second place qualified into the 2016 Cape Verdean Football Championships a few weeks later in May. Mindelense also qualified into the regional Super Cup competition which was held on October 8.

Its chairman of the season was Júlio do Rosario.

FC Derby was again the defending team of the title. A total of 14 clubs participated in the competition, 8 in the Premier Division and 6 in the Second Division. In the Premier Division, a total of 134 goals were scored, around twenty fewer than last season.

Mindelense finished with 30 points, fewer than last season, the win/draw streak for the club ended and would have a total of two losses, Derby finished second with three points fewed, the club scored the most number of goals of the season numbering 26, fewer than last season.

Farense was promoted into the regional Premier Division, Amarante was relegated for the first time to the regional Second Division. Farense went into 7th place and challenged Castilho in the promotional match, the first match ended in a one-goal draw, then Farense defeated the club 1-3 and stays in the Premier Division in the following season.

Batuque started the season being in first place ahead of Salamansa, Falcões do Norte took the spot for two weeks and the remainder of the season by Mindelense. The highest scoring match was Derby defeating Amarantes 7-0, lower than last season's Mindelense victory over Ribeira Bote, the highest away was the next over three in two years, Mindelense defeated Salamansa 0-5 away, though they played in the same stadium.

Mindelense's first loss in more than two years at the regional championships was on April 16 who lost to Amarante 2-0 at week 15, so far Mindelense went to 34 games without losing in the regionals, the longest of any of the regional championships in the country and also for matches won away that was 13 matches without a loss. Mindelense's lost at home 0-1 to Derby on April 24 in the 16th and final week, the first lost at home since January 12, 2014 to Amarante at the regional championships, it numbered 18 matches without a loss, also a record in the country.
