Albania—Brazil relations refers to the bilateral relations of Albania and Brazil.

Embassies and consulates

An Albanian embassy is present in Brasilia[1] and there are also 3 Honorary Consulates of Albania in Brazil, located in Recife, Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro,[2][3] while a Brazilian embassy is located in Tirana.[4]

The first honorary Consulate of Albania in Brazil was opened in 1997 and it was located in Recife. Since then, two more consulates were opened and in 2009 Albania opened its embassy in Brasilia.[5]

Diplomatic visits and agreements

Between the two countries, it also exists a Cultural Association and also a Chamber of Commerce and Industry 'Brazil-Albania'.

On 20 June 2012 the then Prime Minister of Albania, Sali Berisha visited Brazil during an official trip to attend the Rio+20 Summit, while prior to that Brazil was also visited by the Foreign Minister of Albania during that time, Edmond Haxhinasto who was accompanied by a group of 13 Albanian businessmen. The Foreign Minister was received by Michel Temer, than Vice President of Brazil and Senator Fernando Collor de Mello. A bilateral agreement was signed by both countries in future economic cooperation and also a visa abolition agreement. Since 2011 citizens of both countries can travel visa-free.[6]
