JustPark is a technology platform that matches drivers with parking spaces through its website and mobile application.[1] Previously known as ParkatmyHouse, the company was founded in London in 2006 by Anthony Eskinazi.[2] The service allows mobile booking and includes commercial lots and garages, in addition to private parking spaces (similar to Airbnb).

As of 2014, the JustPark service was used by over half a million drivers around the world.[3]

History

The company was founded by Anthony Eskinazi in September 2006[4] after he experienced parking difficulties while attending a baseball game in San Francisco.[5] In July 2011, ParkatmyHouse raised venture capital from BMW i Ventures, the venture capital arm of BMW.[6] In January 2012, ParkatmyHouse launched a beta version of their website in the US.[7] Alex Stephany was the CEO from December 2012 until November 2015.[8] The company is headquartered in Kentish Town, London with a satellite office in the West Village, New York.[9]

Electric vehicle partnership with Transport for London

In late 2012, ParkatmyHouse formed a partnership with Transport for London, SSE plc and chargepoint manufacturer, Chargemaster, to install free electric vehicle charge points on the driveways of property owners currently renting out their driveways using the website.[10] Once installed, the charge points can be reserved online by third parties using the ParkatmyHouse website.

Rebrand as JustPark and investment from Index Ventures

In June 2014, ParkatmyHouse rebranded as JustPark.[11] The following month, JustPark announced that it had received investment from Index Ventures.[12]

In December 2014, JustPark was named by Management Today as one of the "Five British startups that came of age in 2014", alongside Just Eat, TransferWise, Funding Circle and CrowdCube.[13]

Equity crowdfunding campaign

In February 2015, JustPark launched an equity crowdfunding campaign to raise £1 million on major UK platform, CrowdCube.[14] The campaign hit its target in just four days, attracting a record-breaking number of investors, before overfunding.[15]

Service

JustPark software is available via its website and via mobile applications, it is also built into some Minis.[16]
