Aljaž Škorjanec (born 19 February 1990) is a Slovenian professional dancer and choreographer.

Early life

He grew up in the town of Slovenska Bistrica in eastern Slovenia. He is a 19-time Slovenian champion in Ballroom, Latin and Ten Dance.[1]

Strictly Come Dancing

In 2013, he featured in Series 11 of the BBC One hit show Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Abbey Clancy. On 16 November 2013, they received their first "10s" of the competition, during "Blackpool week" when they performed their Quickstep. On 30 November 2013, they became the first couple that year to score a perfect "40", during Musicals Week. On 21 December 2013, they became the 11th winners of the competition. He was the fourth pro dancer to win the show in his first series of Strictly Come Dancing.

He currently stars in Burn the Floor with some other Strictly Come Dancing professionals. In 2014, Škorjanec returned for the twelfth series. He was partnered with "This Morning" reporter, Alison Hammond, they were the sixth couple to be eliminated from the competition. He also returned to the show in 2015, and was partnered with Call the Midwife actress Helen George. In 2016, he returned to the show once again, and was partnered with fashion model Daisy Lowe.
