Amity International, Noida
Amity International School, Noida is a secondary school in the 10+2 pattern. It is located in Sector 44, Noida, in the National Capital Region of India. It was founded in 1994 by Ashok K. Chauhan and Amita Chauhan. The school, like other Amity educational institutions, is controlled by the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation. It shares a campus with the Amity Global School in Noida.
Introduction
The school is located on a 15-acre (61,000 m2) complex, adjacent to Kalindi Kunj on the link road between Noida and Delhi. The school currently educates children from Nursery to Class XII, with the primary wing (from Nursery to Class V) having as many as 14 sections in each class. The school campus is divided into six blocks to accommodate the pre-primary, primary, middle and senior wings.
- Block A contains primary classes, junior library and pre-primary classes.
- Block B contains the transport office, office of the headmistress, primary classes, the amphitheatre and a multipurpose hall.
- Block C contains the office of the vice-principal and headmistress, senior classes, laboratories, the auditorium and senior library.
- Block D contains the administrative office, reception area, principal's office, and a multipurpose hall.
- Block E contains the office of the headmistress, middle classes, laboratories and activity rooms.
- Block J contains Senior School Synchro Study program classes, the Amity Five-Year Conceptual Program (AFYCP) classes and the hostel.
Facilities
For activity-based learning facilities include social studies rooms, science activity rooms, math labs, art & craft rooms and clay modeling rooms. Two air-conditioned auditorium, amphitheatre and multi-purpose halls are the venue for various educational and cultural events. There have been many reports as to the non-working status of the A/C, but the school seems to ignore it. An Olympic size running track, cricket pitches, basketball courts, volleyball courts, badminton courts, a hockey pitch, a skating ring, a gymnasium and a shooting range facilitate sports training. The various programs for games and sports activities are organized rarely to train students in the following areas- basketball, cricket, chess, football, gymnastics, hockey, karate, lawn tennis, skating, shooting, volleyball. The school also has a canteen and a branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce which is accessible to students.
AIS Noida has a fleet of buses for transportation of about 4000 students out of the approximate 6000 students that attend the school. They cover every sector in Noida, as well as South Delhi and the Patparganj area.
Security measures
To ensure the safety of the students and staff, security guards are deployed throughout the school premises. At the end of the school day, the sports department oversees dispersal and once students are on the school buses they are with appointed teachers and guards. In case of an injury or illness requiring immediate attention, the school appoints resident doctors and nurses. All buses have been provided with a Group 4 Security Guard and most of the buses have a teacher on duty.
