Apple River Township is one of twenty-three townships in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 498 and it contained 257 housing units.[1] It was formed from Thompson Township on September 13, 1858.

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 18.46 square miles (47.8 km2), all land.[1]
