Ben 10: Galactic Racing is a racing game in the Ben 10 game series, produced for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Wii, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo 3DS. It was released in North America on October 18, 2011 and November 25, 2011 in Europe, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS. The PlayStation Vita port of Ben 10: Galactic Racing was released on February 22, 2012 in North America and March 16, 2012 in Europe. It is published by D3 Publisher and developed by Monkey Bar Games. It was announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 on June 7, 2011. While players can enable Ben's alien forms in mid-race, other characters such as Kevin Levin can utilize their unique special abilities to affect the outcome of a race. All playable characters can pick up special Omni-Node Power-Ups with many different types of alien-based abilities, including a special Ultimate move that unleashes a super boost of speed and power. Races will be held in Galactic Grand Prix circuits, and players can set record-breaking time scores that can be set in Time Trials mode.[1] A new alien, Fasttrack, makes his video game debut on every platform and one of Ben's original aliens, Diamondhead will be made exclusively available on the Nintendo DS[1] This is the first Ben 10 game that's not available on the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation 2, and the first Ben 10 game in which the player can play as Vilgax. The game is dedicated to former Ben 10 story editor and writer, Dwayne McDuffie. This game was precede the new Ben 10 video game that is based on the series Ben 10: Omniverse.

Gameplay

Gameplay has been cited to be similar to the Mario Kart series and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing,[2] with characters racing through various race circuits based on different places across the Ben 10 franchise, and collecting power-ups (called Omni-Nodes) to boost their speed or hamper their opponents. The game features different types of stages or modes. Featuring: The Galactic Grand Prix (Racing in several multi-track prixs to unlock characters and win trophies), Short Circuit (Racing on a custom prix consisting of three tracks), Single Race (Racing on any track), Time Trials (Beat times set by players and where players unlock karts), Showdown (Three bonus games consisting of: Ultimate Alienation, Omni-Tag and Ultimate Elimination) and finally, Multiplayer (a mode that goes up to four players, where they race against each other.)

Characters

The game is played using a set of 15 characters. They are as follows:

Ben Tennyson[1][3] Randomly transforms into an Alien.
Kevin Levin[1] Fires a wave of rockets that takes out everything in their path.
Heatblast[3] Surfs on the car to get more speed.
Rath Extends his claws and drags them on the track to form a shockwave that shakes up opponents.
Diamondhead[1] Shoots diamond crystals to spin other karts
Fasttrack[1][4] Creates a wave of wind that moves along the track and hits every kart in its path.
Big Chill[3] Blows out a wave of ice vapor that freezes karts it impacts and causes them to spin out.
Swampfire[4] Blows out a wave of swamp gas that surrounds every kart it hits, choking the characters and causing them to stop temporarily.
Ultimate Humungousaur[3] Shoots missiles on other cars to stop them temporarily.
Four Arms[4] Rolling Smack-Down
Ultimate Cannonbolt On a Roll
AmpFibian Power Surge
Ultimate Echo Echo[4] Sonic Slip Dream
Spidermonkey Creates a “web wave”. Karts caught in the wave are temporarily halted as they stick to the webbing.
Ghostfreak Uses his chest tentacles to fire a purple shockwave that causes other karts to flip over.
