The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (or CIPET) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (India)
History
CIPET Hajipur is one of 15 centres, also called "state chapters". It was established in 1994. CIPET Bihar chapter was proposed to be at Patna but later shifted to Hajipur.
Hajipur is connected to Patna by the Mahatma Gandhi Setu 10 km from Patna. It is affiliated to B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur
Admission
Cipet was established in 1968 at Chennai with a tie-up with UNDP. Admission to these centres are through the joint entrance examination conducted every year by CIPET.[1]
The Campus
The institute is situated in the Hajipur industrial area,phase 1 on a five-acre campus. It has separate boys and girls hostels. It is situated in an industrial area so students receive frequent industrial tours.
