Discovery Familia (previously stylized as DFamilia) is an American satellite and cable television channel owned by Discovery Communications. It is an educational, family-oriented Spanish-language Cable channel. The network launched on August 9, 2007.
The channel airs preschool-intended programming under the block Discovery Kids en Español between the hours of 6 am to 7 pm ET, with family-oriented adult programming (under the Discovery Familia block) airing at 7 pm to 6 am ET.
Part of the Discovery U.S. Hispanic portfolio of networks, Discovery Familia has been publicly measured by Nielsen since the start of Q3 2011 and outperformed with impressive growth and an enthusiastic audience reception. The network is now available at over 3 million Hispanic television households. It is currently the #1 Hispanic Pay TV channel from 6am–7pm among preschool kids 2–5 years old and #1 with K2–11 years old.
As of February 2015, approximately 5.8 million American households (5% of households with television) receive Discovery Familia.[1]
