Education and Youth Committee (Georgia Senate)
The Senate Education and Youth is an 11 member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and eight members. The Committee operates under a Senate mandate to regulate the standards for general education of grades K-12 throughout the state.[1]
Scope and jurisdiction
The Senate Education and Youth Committee is responsible for the general education of grades K-12 and for the standards of accreditation for all employees of schools, and school facilities. The Committee also reviews all childcare and pre-k legislation.[1]
