The Fiat 10 HP was the fifth model of the Italian car manufacturer Fiat. Together with the Fiat 8 HP he replaced the Fiat 6 HP, said it was an evolution of this model. The Fiat 6 HP was based in turn on the Fiat 3.5 HP to the engineer Aristide Faccioli had designed for Fiat. After 6 HP also the 10 HP was designed by Faccioli. The technique remained the same, however, changed the fundamental constructive alignment. If the 6 HP still delivered in the body variant Vis-à-vis, the 10 HP was now a Phaeton with successively arranged rows of seats. been Unlike the 8 HP specifically developed for commercial use as a taxi was there still hardly automobiles from private buyers were acquired. As with 6 HP model has a 2-cylinder petrol engine with 1082 cc possessed with two valves per cylinder. This allowed a maximum power of 10 PS. The drive was carried out over a 3-speed manual transmission with chains on the rear wheels. Was a steering wheel at 6 HP still only available as an option instead of a handlebar, it was the 10 HP standard. The price of 10 HP in standard equipment amounted to 9,000 Italian lira. Probably due to the increase in consumption due to the higher weight the model was not a success for Fiat. Instead 20 at 6 HP only 3 or 5 copies, according to sources, built. Yet 1901 was therefore introduced as a successor model, also for the much more successful 8 HP, the Fiat 12 HP. The car has a straight-2 engine with 10 bhp (7.5 kW) and a top speed of 45 kilometres per hour (28 mph).[1]
