The Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS)[1] is a research institute of Singapore, located in the Biopolis.[2]:113

GIS was founded in 2001 by Edison Liu, who became the Institute's executive director.[2]:113 GIS was a formed around the Singapore Genomics Program (SGP), which was established in 2000 by Kong Hwai Loong at the behest of Philip Yeo.[2]:113

The goal of the institute is to use genomic sciences to improve public health and public prosperity.

In 2016, GIS opened the PerkinElmer-GIS Center for Precision Oncology as a joint venture with PerkinElmer.[1]

The GIS scientific advisory board includes Professor Morris Birnbaum, Professor Edward Rubin, Professor Pavel A. Pevzner and Professor Nicholas J. Schork.
