Health & Human Services Committee (Georgia House)
The House Health & Human Services Committee is a 38-member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and 35 members. The Committee operates under a House mandate to evaluate legislation that regulate the safety and operation of social services throughout the state.[1]
Scope and jurisdiction
The House Health & Human Services Committee is responsible for overseeing legislation that "affects the conditions of safety regulations and social services for the citizens of Georgia." The committee's jurisdiction includes the legal areas surrounding medical professionals as well as pharmaceutical provisions.[1]
