Ilias Kanchan (Bengali: ইলিয়াস কাঞ্চন) is a Bangladeshi film actor who appeared in more than 300 films[2] during the 1980s and 1990s. In 2015, he is coming back to acting with Ghuri.[3]
Early life
Ilias was born in Ashutipara, Karimganj, in the district of Kishoreganj. He completed his higher secondary from Kabi Najrul Govt. College in 1975. He then admitted into Jagannath College (now Jagannath University) but didn't continue as he got chance in University of Dhaka. He graduated from the University of Dhaka from Department of Sociology, and started his career as a film actor in 1977. His first film was Boshundhora directed by Subhash Dutta. Kanchan has acted in over 300 Dhallywood films.[1] Generally most of his film roles fall into the social, action and romantic genres.
