Jimboomba Redbacks Australian Football Club (nicknamed The Redbacks) is a Jimboomba based club competing in the SEQAFL Div 4 Australian rules football competition.
Origins
The Southern Redbacks Australian Football Club was established in 2000 to offer youngsters in the Jimboomba and Beaudesert region the opportunity to participate in AFL.
By 2005 enough juniors had matured to enable the club to participate in open age competition, The Southern Redbacks played in the AFLQ state 2nd division. They lost every game and were relegated to 3rd division.
In late 2009, the Southern Redbacks AFC, changed their name to the Jimboomba Redbacks AFC to reflect their location.
