Jurkowice [jurkɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Stary Targ, within Sztum County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) north-west of Stary Targ, 8 km (5 mi) north-east of Sztum, and 56 km (35 mi) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, 1772-1945 Prussia and Germany. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
