The Lions–Vikings rivalry is an American football rivalry between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.^[1]

The Lions and Vikings have been battling since the Vikings entered the league in 1961. Minnesota has dominated the series; however, Detroit has given the Vikings many close games over the years. The Vikings went 3-8-1 against Detroit before Bud Grant came in 1967.^[2]
