MRI Software, LLC is a provider of real estate and investment management software to real estate owners, investors, and operators. The company was founded in 1971 under the name Management Reports Incorporated and was later known as Management Resources International and, once acquired by Intuit in 2002, Intuit Real Estate Solutions (IRES). In 2009, the private equity firm based in San Francisco, Vista Equity Partners, acquired IRES and renamed the company MRI Software.[1] In 2015, MRI Software was acquired by GI Partners.[2] MRI’s software has been installed over 4,500 times in five continents and in 41 countries.[3]

MRI Software is headquartered in Solon, Ohio[4] with additional offices in North Sydney, Australia; London, UK; Hong Kong; and Singapore.[5][6]

Products

MRI Software offers property management and accounting software for multi-family residential commercial property, retail, office, and corporate real estate applications. MRI provides automation in the areas of investment analysis, budgeting, forecasting, portfolio analysis, fund and lease accounting, commercial management, and operations and financials, as well as accounts payable, facility management, general ledger, job costing, reporting, affordable housing, asset management, purchase order, web portal, and web design.[5]

Mergers and Acquisitions

During 2011, MRI Software acquired building operations company Workspeed,[11] the affordable-housing company Bostonpost,[12] and the apartment marketing and leasing company VaultWare (formerly Realty Data Trust).[13]

In 2015, MRI Software acquired Cougar Software of Toronto.[14]
