- 1 Labor MLC Edward Grayndler died on 12 March 1943, before the beginning of this term. Labor candidate Chris Dalton was elected as his replacement on 20 July 1943.
- 2 UAP MLC Ernest Mitchell died on 21 April 1943, the day before this term began. Labor MLC Joseph Coates died on 4 May 1943. Labor candidates Charles Hackett and Robert Savage were elected as their replacements on 20 August 1943.
- 3 Labor MLC John Culbert died on 19 August 1943. Labor candidate William Gibb was elected as his replacement on 3 November 1943.
- 4 UAP MLC Sir Archibald Howie died on 26 October 1943. Labor candidate Samuel Williams was elected as his replacement on 9 December 1943.
- 4 Liberal MLC Thomas Holden resigned on 10 October 1945. Labor candidate John Ferguson was elected as his replacement on 7 November 1945.
