The Memphis–Ole Miss football rivalry also known as Mid–South Rivalry, is an American college football rivalry between the Memphis Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels. The rivalry started in 1921. Ole Miss leads the series, 49–11–2.
Series history
The teams first met in 1921, with Ole Miss winning the first 17 games. Memphis earned a memorable tie in 1963, and won its first game in the series in 1967. From 1962 to 1995, games were played annually (except 1975) in Oxford, Memphis and Jackson MS.
In 2015, Memphis upset Ole Miss 37–24. It was the first time the Tigers defeated the Rebels since 2004, and first win over a ranked opponent since 1996.
