Nadia Alexander
Nadia Alexander (born Nadia Cook-Loshilov) is an American actress[1] best known for roles in television (The Mob Doctor, Boardwalk Empire) and film (Admission). In Spring 2015 she joined the cast of the HBO Jenji Kohan (unaired) pilot The Devil You Know (TV pilot)[2] playing Ann Putnam, Jr., alongside Eddie Izzard and was cast opposite Jordana Spiro in The Wilding[3] on USA Network.
Personal life
Alexander spent her childhood in Pittsburgh, PA, performing in theater before moving to New York City as a teenager. She graduated from the drama program at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts.[4] She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society with Bachelor's Degrees in physics and psychology from the William E. Macaulay Honors College.[5]
Career
Alexander began acting at the age of six, when she was cast in a Pittsburgh-area regional stage production of The Sound of Music playing the role of Gretl. She worked professionally throughout her childhood at most of southwestern Pennsylvania's Equity theaters, including Pittsburgh Public Theater, where she took home first place in their annual Shakespeare Monologue Competition for three consecutive years.[6]
In 2007, Alexander moved to New York City, where she became known for her commercial and episodic television work. While still in high school, Alexander performed Off-Broadway in There Are No More Big Secrets at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.[7] Her first feature film performance was in the independent movie, Postales. In 2014 she was cast in Ten Thousand Saints to play the role of Prudence, the sister of Jude Keffy-Horn, played by British film actor Asa Butterfield.
