Nenmara Vallanghy Vela (Malayalam: നെന്മാറ വല്ലങ്ങി വേല) is one of the most popular annual festival of kerala celebrated at Vallanghy Nellikulangara Bhagavathy temple in Nenmara, Palakkad district.
Rituals
Nenmara and Vallanghy are two neighbouring villages in the district. In fact, this festival is a competition between these two villages. During the celebration, 30 caparisoned elephants line up in ritual magnificence under a decorated canopy. The Nenmara Vallanghy Vela is the second important festival similar to Thrissur Pooram.
