Oskar Schäfer (16 January 1921 – 22 November 2011) was a Waffen-SS officer during World War II, who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. He died in 2011.

Schäfer was born on 16 January 1921 in Nixdorf in the Sudetenland. After completing his high school education in November 1938, he volunteered to join the SS-VT. He took part in the Polish Campaign, the Battle of France and Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941.

In April 1945, he was with the 503rd SS Heavy Panzer Battalion during the Battle of Berlin. Schäfer was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 29 April, 1945.^[1]
