Park View is a mixed gender community secondary school, located next to Downhills Park in the West Green area of the London Borough of Haringey Tottenham, London.[1]
Its predecessor school was The Langham School. The Langham was closed in 1999 due to the poor progress, academic achievement and behaviour of its pupils. The school reopened as Park View the following day, with the same pupils and many of the same staff.
Progress, outcomes and pupil behaviour have improved significantly at the school since this time. Park View is currently rated good with outstanding leadership and management by Ofsted. It is regarded as a national leader in supporting child mental health issues and in 2015, was awarded a prestigious HSJ award for its work in this area.
The catchment area of Park View encompasses one of the most ethnically, culturally and socially mixed areas of London, and a majority of pupils at the school speak English as a second language. The school itself claims to be arguably the most diverse secondary school in the world.[2]
