Voltas is India's largest air conditioning company, and one of the world's premier engineering solutions providers and project specialists. Founded in India in 1954 and being one of the principal companies in the TATA group, Voltas Limited offers engineering solutions for a wide spectrum of industries in areas such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, refrigeration, electro-mechanical projects, textile machinery, mining and construction equipment, water management & treatment, cold chain solutions, building management systems, and indoor air quality.
Voltas has provided air conditioning in the world's tallest building i.e. the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and also in the once biggest ocean liner RMS Queen Mary 2.
The Company's strengths lie principally in

Voltas is a part of the Tata Group. The managing director is Mr. Sanjay Johri. Its shares are traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange under symbol 500575 with a turnover of INR 5364.35 crore in 2011-12.
The Voltas company has a large Service Network and has its own service center in each major city for maintaining a proper track of every ongoing activity ( project and customer related upbringings )
In 2014, Voltas was ranked 39th among India's most trusted brands according to the Brand Trust Report, a study conducted by Trust Research Advisory and is often ranked among the top 10 air conditioner brands in the world (being number one in India ) [7] [8] [9] [10]

History
The Company was Incorporated on the 6 of September, 1954 in Mumbai, India. The origin of the name Voltas comes from a combination of Volkart, Swiss brothers who partly founded the company and Tatas (VOL-TAS).
In 1978, Voltas established its first presence in the MENA region (Oman,Qatar, U.A.E,Bahrain, Saudi Arabia) . A few years back , the mining and construction equipment division,that has been serving the cause of mechanization and modernization for almost 50 years,started it's Mozambique operations in Africa. Voltas has always been a globally preferred EPC contractor in electro-mechanical (MEP) projects for industry, service, infrastructure segments, principally all over Middle East, South Asia markets : Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Maldives, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India
Cold Storage and Industrial Refrigeration Solutions
Voltas specializes in Ammonia based refrigeration solutions for temperatures as low as -80 Deg C for industries like Dairies, Logistics and Warehouses, Refineries, Pharmaceuticals, etc.
