Mersin İdmanyurdu (also Mersin İdman Yurdu, Mersin İY, or MİY) Sports Club; located in Mersin, east Mediterranean coast of Turkey in 1991–92. Mersin İdmanyurdu (MİY) participated in Second League 1991–92 season for the 18th time and finished tenth. The team also participated in Turkish Cup (Türkiye Kupası) in 1991–92 and was eliminated at Round 3.

Kaya Mutlu was the president of the club. Coach Adnan Dinçer managed the team during the season His assistant was Nasır Belci. Ömer Faruk Demir (33) and Faruk Özbekir (32) were most appeared players in the team rosters. While Yücel Çolak was top goalscorer with 16 goals.

1991–92 Second League participation

Mersin İdmanyurdu took place in 1991–92 Second League season. League played in three groups two with 17 teams and one with 18 teams. Bottom three teams relegated to Third League, whereas top team promoted to First League at the end of the season.[1]

Mersin idmanyurdu took place in 1991–92 Second League Group C. MİY didn't show previous year's performance and finished 10th with 12 wins and 44 goals.

1991–92 Turkish Cup participation

1991–92 Turkish Cup was played by 105 teams in 6 rounds prior to quarterfinals in one-leg elimination system. Mersin İdmanyurdu had participated in 30th Turkish Cup (played as Federasyon Kupası) in 1991–92 from Round 2 and eliminated at Round 3. Both of the opponents were from the same group with MİY in Second League. Trabzonspor won the cup for the 4th time.[7]

At the end of 2003–04 season Kayseri Erciyesspor finished the TFF First League at second place and gained direct promotion to 2004–05 Süper Lig. The club interchanged their name and logo with those of Kayserispor (who finished 6th and could not promote) upon the request of 11th President of Turkey Abdullah Gül, then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for Kayseri.
