The 2012 Eusébio Cup was the 5th edition of the Eusébio Cup. It was won by Benfica, the host of the tournament with a victory over the Spanish champions in title, Real Madrid. This time, unlike 2008 season, José Mourinho did not come out with the victory in the tournament, and his team were thrashed 5–2. In this Iberian duel, where Real Madrid were without some of its main stars, Benfica made a good showing in what would be the first official game of pre-season in Estádio da Luz.
