The 2016–17 Houston Rockets season is the 50th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and their 46th in the Houston area.[1] On June 1, 2016, the Rockets named Mike D'Antoni as their new head coach.[2] The Rockets are expected to retire the number 11 of former center Yao Ming in February 2017.
