Akers is an unincorporated community in northwestern Shannon County, Missouri, United States. It is located about eighteen miles northwest of Eminence in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Akers houses a campground, general store, and access to the Current River, a popular canoeing location. Since there is no bridge, there is a small ferry that allows vehicles traveling on Highway K to cross the Current River. It formerly had a post office, but now mail is served by Salem. The community was founded in 1886 and is named for John Akers, the postmaster.
